As part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) we have a unique understanding of ourselves that is different from many other denominations and congregations. We are congregational in nature, meaning that the order, structure, and decision-making of our congregation is autonomous. We celebrate that we have freedom to be the individual church God is calling us to be. But we are also part of a larger fellowship. Though we are autonomous, and not subordinate to any presytery, diocese, or conference, we are in a covenantal relationship with other congregations in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) on both a regional and international level. We celebrate this covenant relationship that gives us connection to the universal body of Christ and helps us the strength to be more effective in our mission and public witness in our community, our nation, and our world.
